It happened around 9:05 a.m. in Middlesex County on the I-91 northbound Exit 20 onramp in Middletown. Businessman From Westchester Who Made Mark In Real Estate, Autos, Insurance Dies A Connecticut resident who grew up in Westchester County and worked in insurance, automobiles, and real estate over the course of his career has died at the age of 78. Fairfield County resident Kurt Hothorn Jr., of Greenwich, died at Greenwich Hospital on Friday, Sept. 23, according to his obituary. He was born in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, his obituary said.  Hothorn graduated from Concordia Prep, and he went on to study at Valparaiso University in Indiana. The crash occurred in Brookhaven around 7:50 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8 in front of the Brookhaven Fire Department at 2486 Montauk Highway. 270,000 SUVs Recalled Due To Rollaway Risk Chrysler is recalling more than 270,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles because of a malfunction that could cause the cars to rollaway.   The manufacturer said the models antilock-brake system (ABS) module "may illuminate the brake lights, and allow the vehicle to start and shift out of Park without the brake pedal being applied."  These modules were installed in the vehicles built between June 10, 2018 to April 30, 2019, according to the recall filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).  The recall accounts for 211,934 Gr…

Police: Duo Who Fraudulently Used Credit, Debit Cards At Newtown Stores Believed To Be From NY Newtown Police are asking the public for help locating two men who fraudulently used credit cards at local stores. The men believed to be from the New York area used the cards at several between 1 and 3:30 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 8, said the Newtown Police. Police say the men may be driving a dark Chrysler sedan with tinted windows and New York plats.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Lorancaitis at 203-426-5841.
