Bobcat Sighting Results In Police Response At Northern Westchester School
A bobcat sighting reported by staff resulted in a police response at a school in the region. The incident happened in Northern Westchester County on Wednesday, Nov. 8 just before 3 p.m., when staff members at the Coman Hill Elementary School at 558 Bedford Rd. (Route 22) reported a possible bobcat that was seen behind the building, according to North Castle Police. Bobcat Spotted By Local Resident While Walking Dog In Northern Fairfield County
A local man got a big surprise while taking a routine walk with his dog in northern Fairfield County. The incident happened around 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11 just north of I-84 in Brookfield, at the Happy Landings Protected Open Space on Whisconier Road. (Click on the second image above.) That darn cat. Or was it? An incident that happened in upstate New York last week required a teamwide effort by members of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. A video from the town of Wilmington in Essex County, about 12 miles northeast of Lake Placid, captured the predator that killed a deer in a local resident's driveway. A local family got an unexpected visitor when a bobcat was caught on camera making the rounds in its backyard. At approximately 7 a.m. near the north end of Putnam Valley on Monday, Sept. 27, an area resident captured a large bobcat slinking through his backyard when he went to feed his chickens, who were unharmed by the animal.
