Northern Westchester Police Department Names Interim Leader After Chief's Retirement
Weeks after their longtime chief announced his retirement, a police department in Northern Westchester has sworn in his interim replacement. On Wednesday night, Dec. 20, the Ossining Police Department swore in Captain Brendan Donohue as interim Chief of Police, the department announced. Donohue takes over for former Chief Kevin Sylvester, who announced his retirement on Thursday, Dec. 7 after more than two decades with the department. Northern Westchester Man Indicted On Attempted Murder Charge Following Shooting
A Northern Westchester man is facing assault and an attempted murder charge in connection to an early morning shooting. Mario Mieles, of Ossining, has been arraigned on an indictment on charges of attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon - all felonies - after shooting another man in Ossining in February. Man Surrenders In Connection To Northern Westchester Shooting
A Northern Westchester man is in police custody in connection to a morning shooting. The Ossining Police Department announced that Mario Mieles of Ossining turned himself in on Thursday night as the investigation into a shooting at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 on Van Cortlandt Avenue. The shooting led to a road closure between North Highland and Cortlandt Place during the police investigation. Mieles’ victim remains hospitalized, police noted.
