Summer's Here But Fall School Sports Are Coming To North Salem

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- It still may be summer, but fall sports are right around the corner.

Henry Sassone, the North Salem school district's director of athletics, reminds everyone that the fall 2013 North Salem varsity and junior varsity athletic team try-outs/practices will begin Aug. 19. Athletes are expected to report to practice on the first day.

The start date is three weeks prior to the first day of school. Therefore, to accommodate family vacations, athletes must report to practice no later than Aug. 23 to be eligible to try out and participate on the team. If vacations are scheduled for the second or third week of the pre-season, an athlete may not miss more than four practices to be eligible for participation on their respective team.
