That’s why Feniger, a North Salem High School student who studies computer graphics and digital photography at the Tech Center at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES, was recently honored as a student of distinction.
Feniger was presented with a medal and certificate in recognition of her achievement at the North Salem Board of Education meeting on Dec. 14.
“Leah has shown an amazing effort toward learning new programs and exploring different creative fields," said one of her teachers, Aaron Armisto. "She has proven that she is a lifelong learner by taking the initiative to go beyond assignment objectives, taking her artwork to the next level both creatively and technically.”
Feniger also has excellent creative and professional skills and an impressive ability to create dynamic visual designs, he added.
In addition to her work ethic and creativity, the teen has a strong connection to the community. She is an active member of the Girl Scouts, where she currently holds Ambassador status, and also volunteers at her temple, where she helps children learn Hebrew.
“Leah is a model student,” Armisto said, “whose work ethic, professionalism, and creativity make her a leader and a supportive figure for others to gain knowledge from.”
