North Salem To Celebrate Production Studio? Premiere

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – North Salem High School graduate, Erik Nicoletti, was devoted to films and film-making, so when Erik was killed by a hit-and-run driver in 2009, his family suggested an annual film festival and perhaps even – ultimately – a broadcast studio in Erik’s honor.

Thanks to the support of friends, students, neighbors, civic groups, community members and contributions made to the EVN Foundation, both goals have come to fruition.

When Erik was a student at the high school, his class had to travel to other schools to borrow their broadcasting equipment. Now the middle/high school’s North Salem Production Studio will be able to offer its own credit-bearing classes on subjects like script-writing, film-editing, camera operation, light and sound, and more.

The official Ribbon-Cutting ceremony for the North Salem Production Studio will take place at North Salem Middle/High School on Wednesday, June 5, from 7 to 7:45 p.m. Erik Nicoletti’s mother, Dorothy, will be the Key Note speaker. Tours of the production studio will be led by Media Specialist Cynthia Sandler and her students. Everyone is invited to come.
