NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - The Hudson River Ramblers will amble into the Ruth Keeler Library on Sunday, December 4 at 3 p.m. to share songs and magical stories about holidays on the Hudson.
The Ramblers are a two man team: Jonathan Kruk, yarns and tales, and Rich Bala, lyrics and music. Although Kruk has a masters degree in education, he defines himself as a professional storyteller. Bala is a well-known folk balladeer, has been lauded by none other folk icon Pete Seeger.
Together the men give an intelligent, clever and amusing presentation of local history, this time centered on the holiday season. The show is appropriate for grownups and children of all ages as well as their extended families. The event is free.
Sundays entertainment is another in this seasons four part music program sponsored by the Friends of the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library, in conjunction with a grant from M&T Bank. The first in the series was the West Point Academy Wind Quintet in September. The second was the African Drum presentation in November. The final concert will be Saturday, April 28, featuring The Red Dirt Road Band.
The Ruth Keeler Library is always happy to welcome new Friends to its roster. Membership is $20 a year.
