North Salem Police Catch Youths With Marijuana

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – North Salem Police received a report Monday of three suspicious youths loitering on beach property off Lake Shore Drive. Officer Dennis Cullen located the boys, seated around a picnic table on which a blue marijuana-type pipe was lying. The officer confiscated the pipe and a small amount of marijuana and released two boys to the mother of one of the boys. He contacted the other mother by telephone. The third boy, showing signs of intoxication, was released to the family he was visiting.

The North Salem Police also reported the following incidents:

  • The Bedford Police asked the North Salem Police to be on the lookout Tuesday for someone driving a 2000 black Jeep Wrangler in the vicinity of Mills Road. The person was wanted for violating a valid Order of Protection. Officer Michael Castellano located the vehicle, confirmed the driver’s identity, took him into custody and delivered him to the Bedford Police Station.
  • Five gallons of diesel fuel and five gallons of gasoline were taken from a locked maintenance shed at a Keeler Lane home on Thursday, May 23. There were no witnesses.
  • Sgt. Andrew Brown attended a lockdown drill at the North Salem Middle/High School on Thursday, which was carried out without incident.
