A 66-year-old man has been charged after he displayed offensive sexual materials outside the Putnam County Courthouse, according to the Putnam Sheriff.
Officers with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department say they were dispatched to the Putnam County Court House in Carmel (20 County Center) on a report of a billboard atop a vehicle that was displaying pictures of a topless woman on Tuesday, Oct. 15 around 9:45 a.m.
Officers arrived and observed a white Dodge SUV with a billboard attached that was displaying three large photos of a woman with no shirt, no bra and both breasts entirely exposed, as well as other sexual images, according to police.
The owner of the vehicle, identified as Douglas Demasi of Hopewell Junction, allegedly admitted to putting the billboard up when speaking with police and was placed under arrest.
Demasi was charged with public display of offensive sexual material, a Class A misdemeanor. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear at the Town of Carmel Court in the future.
