Car Hits Telephone Pole in North Salem

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – A car traveling on Grant Road between Silo Ridge and Turkey Mountain roads Thursday evening went out of control and hit a telephone pole, North Salem police said. Officers directed traffic during the temporary road closure until New York State Electric and Gas workers were able to come and raise low-hanging wires. The Croton Falls Fire Department and North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps remained at the scene in case an emergency arose. The wires were repaired within a short time.
