What's Happening in North Salem This Weekend

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – The Memorial Day Parade is just one of the highlights planned for this long Memorial Day weekend.

Friday, May 25

Meeting of the Somers Tremor Group: 1:30-4:30 p.m. The Somers Tremor Group, dedicated to the neurological disorder that causes involuntary shaking, quivering or quavering, will meet for a Tai Chi session, followed by a discussion period. The Tai Chi starts at 1:30 p.m.; the discussion starts at 3 p.m. There is no charge, but a donation of $10 from those attending the Tai Chi portion would be appreciated. The meeting is open to all. The event takes place at the Somers Library, Reis Park, Route 139, Somers.

Twelfth Night: 8 p.m. The season’s final dramatic presentation at the Schoolhouse continues until June 10, with performances at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and at 3 p.m. Sundas. Tickets are $33 for Thursdays and Fridays, $35 for Saturdays and Sundays. Call (914) 277-8477 for reservations. The Schoolhouse Theater is at 3 Owens Road, Croton Falls.

Saturday, May 26

Opening Day at Lake Lincolndale: Noon - 8 p.m. Here's your chance to experience "a little slice of heaven." Everyone is welcome to the Lake Lincolndale Open Beach Day. Food and beverages, activities for the kids, the annual tug of war and live music by Armenian Rug Riders are among the festivities. Annual beach memberships are open to non-residents of the lake. Yoga in the Garden: 9-10 a.m. Ridgefield’s Garden of Ideas will have outdoor yoga classes every Saturday morning (weather permitting) under the leadership of certified yoga instructor Kelli Nairn. Sunday, May 27

Farmers' Market: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fresh produce, meats, cheese, soaps, candles, honey, maple syrup, flowers, fish and delicacies from local farmers and artisans will be available. The Muscoot Farmers' Market will continue every Sunday through October. Muscoot Farm is on Route 100, 1½ miles south of Route 35 in Somers.

Meet the Baby Animals at Muscoot: 1-3 p.m. Children and adults alike will enjoy meeting the new baby animals. There is no charge. Muscoot Farm is on Route 100, 1½ miles south of Route 35 in Somers.
