Eugene Bender, almost blind since birth, has created oil portraits remarkable for their detail and sensitive color. Jo-Ellen Bossom works in mixed media to create whimsical portraits and animals. No charge.

Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Farmers Market

The weekly market will feature fresh produce from New Paltz, Beacon, Pound Ridge, Kinderhook, Highland, Staatsburg, Gardiner and other local farms.

A Peek Behind the Scenes

Sunday 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tour the Lasdon Family Summer Residence

Group tours of the estate house, conducted by a Lasdon horticulturist. Stop afterwards at the converted pool house, now called the Shop at Lasdon, for information about the park, plants and gardening items. No charge.

Can You Canoe?

CROTON RIVER BOAT RAMP Croton-on-Hudson

Sunday, time depends upon tides, Canoe Trip.

It is off the beaten path, so to speak, but experienced canoers might like to paddle up the Croton River to the rapids that block upstream passage. Be prepared to get wet. Two person limit per boat. Adults only, $15 per person. For further information call (914) 762-2912 ext. 110.

Music on the Green

Friday 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Summer Concert Series presents Abraxas, a tribute to Santana.

Saturday 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Ridgefield Symphony playing Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Symphony and Italian Symphony and Bach’s Orchestral Suite #3 in D Major.

No admission. Suggested donation is $2 per person, $5 per family. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets. Chairs will also be available for rent.
