Nyseg Working on Outages in North Salem

Severe thunderstorms, windstorms and hail swept through North Salem Thursday night. Trees tumbled creating hazardous driving conditions and causing power outages. As of 9 a.m. Friday New York State Electric & Gas reported that over 13,000 customers served through the Brewster substation, which includes North Salem, were still without power. In North Salem, 19 of NYSEG’s 2,393 customers are waiting for power to be restored.Service crews are out working to repair damage and NYSEG estimates that all repairs will be completed before midnight Saturday, the utility said. An approximate repair time for North Salem has not been declared.Countywide, NYSEG reports that 4,253 of its 32,410 customers are without power.
