North Salem Police: Five-Car Accident on I-684

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – A five-car accident on Interstate 684 near Exit 8 tied up southbound traffic for roughly three hours on Friday morning. North Salem Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident occurred at 7:40 a.m. to assist New York State Police in directing traffic, clearing the road and attending to the victims. All lanes were reopened by 10:55 a.m.

The following items were also reported by North Salem police:

  • A Titicus Road resident who is in the process of moving reported to police on Saturday that a concrete planter and pedestal weighing about 140 pounds had been stolen overnight from her yard.
  • While horseback riding in the woods off June Road early Friday evening, a woman fell off her horse. The Croton Falls Fire Department responded with a 4x4 vehicle to remove the victim from the riding lane. She was transported to Danbury Hospital by the North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
