A North Salem man was charged with menacing in the third degree, a misdemeanor, after police said he threatened to kill a man in Putnam County.
Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith said his department received a report Jan. 3 from a man looking to file criminal charges against another man who had threatened to kill him and said he feared for his life. Smith identified the other man as Arthur Daka, 28, of Cottage Lane in North Salem. The sheriff department arrested him at a location in Southeast.
If found guilty of the charge, Smith said Daka could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
