NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Rock band the Foo Fighters will be the final musical act as North Salem resident David Letterman signs off as host of the "Late Show" on Wednesday night, according to Rolling Stone.

Letterman and the Foo Fighters have had a long history. The band fronted by Dave Grohl has been described as the talk show host as his favorite band, with his favorite song being the hit "Everlong," Rolling Stone reported.

Several other surprise guests are expected to show up for Letterman's final show.
