Candidates Forum to be Held at the High School

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – The League of Women Voters is sponsoring a public discussion with North Salem’s various candidates for office on Tuesday in the auditorium of North Salem High School. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. 

The League has invited all candidates in the upcoming election to participate. These include: Warren Lucas (R,I), running unopposed for supervisor, and Veronica Howley (R,C,I), running unopposed for town clerk. 

Amy Rosmarin (D,I,Ind), Bruce Buchholtz (R,C,Ind), William Monti (R) and John White (I) will also be present. These four candidates will oppose each other for two available seats on the town board. 

Solomon Schepps (D,Ind), Ralph Mackin (R,C,I), and John Johnston (R,I,C) will oppose each other for two available positions as town justice.

Also on hand will be Peter Harckham (D,WF,I) and Peter Michaelis (R,C), who are competing for the single District 2 county legislature seat. 

The evening will follow the League’s usual format. Each candidate makes a 2-minute speech. A moderator from the League will pose one or two questions, the audience will be permitted to ask questions and the candidate will make a closing statement.
