An estimated 1,645 out of 2,391 customers in North Salem were without power at 6 a.m. Saturday, according to New York State Energy and Gas reports. More than 25,425 customers out of 32,524 total customers served by NYSEG in Westchester are out of power as of 6 a.m. Saturday, down from 28,303 Friday morning.

“Our crews are working around the clock to restore power, and we appreciate the support we’ve received from our customers, municipal officials and the state,” said Mark S. Lynch, president of NYSEG and RG&E, in a press release. “We’re making steady progress and will continue to do so, and appreciate the National Guard’s efforts which will further assist our restoration operation.”

The company expects that the vast majority of customers will be restored by midnight Sunday, Nov. 4, with remaining customers restored by midnight Wednesday, Nov. 7.  Officials reminded customers that as assessment is completed, “we sometimes find additional damage or areas that remain inaccessible which may extend restoration times,” according to the release.

“We are committed to restoring power to all of our customers as quickly as possible and will work diligently until every customer’s power is restored,” Lynch said, according to the release.

The company continues to contact its life support and critical care customers and deliver dry ice.  Statewide during this event more than 600,000 pounds of dry ice have been distributed, according to the release.
