Santa Blasts into North Salem

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Santa Claus blasted into North Salem on Sunday afternoon, seated atop a bright red fire truck and escorted by a pair of red emergency vehicles.

Angela Shabshis was waiting in Salem Chase with her three kids, Matthew, 3, Michael, 6 and Julia, 11, along with Julia's friend, Angela Bisaillon, who will turn 12 on Christmas Day.

“We’ve lived here nine years,” said Angela Shabshis. “I’m so glad, I wish they’d done this long ago. It’s a really good idea. It’s very nice of the town to do this.”
