Pick a Peck of Pumpkins at Muscoot

SOMERS, N.Y. - Muscoot Farm’s annual Pumpkin Pickin’ event takes place every year on Columbus Day weekend. Families turn out in huge numbers to ride the hay wagons out to the pumpkin patch and pick the perfect pumpkin for Halloween carving.

The annual Pickin’ event is a fundraiser to benefit the Friends of Muscoot Farm. All proceeds go to the farm. The fee for riding the hay wagon is $2. The more athletically inclined can stroll back to the pumpkin patch if they prefer. Pumpkin prices vary, according to size.

Monday's weather is perfect for pumpkin picking. The patch is open from noon until 3 p.m. Better get there before “the frost is on the punkin.”
