Hauser has recently returned from deployment in the North Pacific, Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean, serving on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro (WHEC-724), for over a year. In July he will be deployed to Japan to serve on the U.S. Navy minesweeper, USS Patriot (MCM-7).

“Jake is a very ambitious young man with a great future ahead,” said Senator Greg Ball as he presented the Senate Proclamation. “It is my honor to present him with this.”

Hauser, born and raised in North Salem, attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Class of 2011, where he served as the first American Vice President of the International Council and as Senior Editor of the Cadet Online Journal Program. He was the only Service- and State Department-endorsed Fulbright Scholar candidate in his class.

He received the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation for his work on the Cutter Munro.
