North Salem: Reserve a Table for 2012

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - There is no need to travel far to ring in the New Year in a joyful setting. Here are a few local suggestions:

North Salem’s charming and popular authentic French restaurant is doing two special seatings on New Year’s Eve.

The first seating, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., asks you to make a difficult choice from a half-dozen tempting appetizers, followed by grouper, scallops, duck, tuna, beef or lamb chops. Dessert and coffee are included. The price is $70.

The second seating, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., offers lobster bisque or terrine of foie gras, choice of tuna, scallops or beef, dessert and coffee. The price is $95. 

121 Restaurant

This often crowded favorite has an unusually extensive New Year’s Eve menu, including elegant amuse bouches, appetizers such as foie gras, vol-au-vent, tuna tartar, and mouth-watering entrees based on chicken, beef, duck or seafood. Desserts are equally tempting.

Two seatings are available. The first, before 6:30 p.m., includes three courses for $52. The second, after 6:30 p.m., offers four courses including champagne for $79.

Croton Creek Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Just celebrating its Fifth Anniversary as Croton Falls’ prime steakhouse, Croton Creek will offer its usual a la carte menu, featuring beef specialties, a wide range of appetizers, generous vegetable side dishes and tempting seafood entrees. The kitchen will take the last order at 10 p.m. but the restaurant will remain open past midnight.
