The arrest resulted from an incident on Monday, April 8 around 4:20 a.m., when a suspect was seen allegedly displaying a gun at the Pit Stop gas station in New Rochelle at 819 Main St., according to New Rochelle Police Captain J. Collins Coyne.

An anonymous caller soon reported this incident to police, adding that the suspect had been driving a blue Corvette with Connecticut license plates.

Officers then began searching the area around the gas station and found a vehicle matching this description parked and unoccupied outside the Drake Cafe and Bar at 1 Drake Ave., a short distance from the gas station.

Police soon found the driver, identified as Queens resident Feras Khrisat, and found him in possession of illegal drugs and a .45 caliber handgun that was found inside the Corvette, according to Coyne.

However, police could not confirm if Khrisat had displayed the gun at the gas station.

Khrisat was arrested and charged with:

  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon;
  • Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance;
  • Second-degree criminal contempt.

Anyone with more information about the incident is asked to call New Rochelle Police at 914-654-2300.
