NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Samantha Benson is using her platform as the creator of the luxe baby and child collection, Sammy & Nat, to do good for her North Salem neighbor.
Lisa Mayette lives next door to where Benson grew up -- her dad still lives there though she's in NYC now -- and so, heard about Mayette's struggle with Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Donating a portion of her sales to help Mayette and her family -- Mayette has a 25-month-old baby girl named Mary -- is now her number one mission. She is partnering with mom bloggers, celebrities, and other influencers to help spread the story and bring awareness about the disease.
Twenty percent of all sales on the S+N site will go to Mayette's donation page which Benson is sponsoring (you can shop or donate directly on her site under "Mary's Mom").
This is a cause near and dear to her heart because Benson and her sister -- the "Nat" in her company's moniker -- had their mom pass away from cancer when they were very young.
"Lisa's situation as a young mother and business owner --which she had to give up when she was sick-- struck a cord with me," said Benson. "They have limited resources and their medical bills and treatments have put them into great debt."
Which is why, she said, she would love to use the voice of her brand to bring awareness to their situation.
