Lewis has worked at the Schoolhouse before, having directed five plays between 1997 and 2003.
“The Schoolhouse is a magical place where artists of skill have long been able to practice their craft,” said Lewis in a statement. “I’m looking forward to bringing many productions to Westchester audiences who have learned to equate The Schoolhouse with excellent theater.”
The first production under Lewis will be an adaptation of O. Henry’s “The Gift of the Magi,” scheduled to be performed Dec. 10-20.
Lewis' experience ranges from founding and leading The Phoenix Theater at The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, to working with actors Alan Arkin, Billy Crudup, Ellen Burstyn, Elaine Stritch, Ruby Dee, Francis Sternhagen, Julie Harris and Jason Robards.
The Schoolhouse Theater is at 3 Owens Road, Croton Falls.
