Wines for Summer: 4 to 7:30 p.m. Stop in, take some sips, and learn about wines that will perk up your picnics and parties this summer. The summer wine-tasting is at the Front Street Cellar at the Croton Falls Train Station.
Artists’ Reception: 6 p.m. After a period of renovations, Lewisboro’s Gallery at Onatru will re-open with an exhibition of drawings, watercolors, oil paintings, sculptures and ceramic arts by 30 local artists, both professional and amateur. The exhibition will continue to be open on Sundays through July 28, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Onatru Gallery is at 99 Elmwood Road, South Salem.
Sleeping with Wolves: 6 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Camp out overnight with the 23 wolves who live in South Salem. Hear the howls, watch the vultures in the sky and count the stars. Fees vary and pre-registration is required. It’s at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem.
Red Hot Lovers: 8 p.m. The Schoolhouse Theater’s newest production, Neil Simon’s “Last of the Red Hot Lovers,” is in its final performances this week. John Jay Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The popular farmers market will continue weekly on the grounds of the John Jay Homestead until autumn. Farm stands this year will include Amba Farms, Cabbage Hill Farm, JD Farms, Mobius Fields, Mt. Holly Farm, Tiny Hearts Farm John Boy’s Farm and Gaia’s Breath Farm. Among the vendors will be Ladle of Love, Wave Hill Breads, Red Barn Bakery, Whitecliff Vineyards and Bedford’s Truck Restaurant. The John Jay Homestead is at 400 Jay Street in Katonah.
Fungus Fair: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. This two-day event (Sunday is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) will include mushroom walks and amusing presentations related to “all things fungal.” An additional treat is a shiitake gardening workshop, offered by a professional cultivator. After dark on Saturday there will be firefly watching. There is no fee. It’s at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Routes 35 and 121 South, Cross River.
Reptiles & Amphibians: 10 a.m. to noon. Join a guided tour and search for local reptiles and amphibians at the Halle Ravine Preserve. The event is free and family-oriented. Meet at the entrance to the Preserve off Trinity Pass, near the intersection of Donbrook Road in Pound Ridge.
Political Ball Game: 11 a.m. Lewisboro Democrats will challenge Lewisboro Republicans to nine innings of softball. People of all political persuasions are invited to be spectators or join in the game. Food and beverages will be provided by South Salem’s Horse & Hound Inn. Proceeds will go to the Forever Molly and Gregory Fund. It’s at Field Four, Onatru Farm, Elmwood Road, South Salem.
Fireworks Spectacular: 5 p.m. to after dark. Designated parking will begin at 5 p.m. Festivities and activities begin at 6 p.m. Fireworks will go off about 9:15 p.m. Remember to bring blankets, chairs, picnic baskets, and insect repellent. No barbecues and no dogs will be permitted. It’s at Onatru Farm, Elmwood Road, South Salem. The parking fee is $20 per car. (The rain date is July 2).
Evening Howl - Adults Only! 7 p.m. Visit the wolves and learn some fascinating things about them while you enjoy wine and cheese. The program is limited to adults over 21. Pre-registration is required. The fee is $20. It takes place at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem.

Muscoot Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Muscoot’s seasonal farmers market is now a weekly event, continuing until the end of October. There will be dozens of vendors selling prepared food and many sellers of locally grown produce. Muscoot Farm is on Route 100, about a mile south of Route 35, in Somers.
International Culture Festival: 1 to 5 p.m. Ecuadorean music, Chinese paper-cutting, a Bonsai exhibition, demonstrations of calligraphy, henna tattoos for children of all ages, and ceramic art lessons for kids are just some of the features of this event. South Salem Presbyterian Church: 4 p.m. The church’s new spiritual leader, the Rev. Charles “Chip” Andrus will be officially installed, with a ceremony featuring special guest preacher, the Rev. Dale P. Andrews of Vanderbilt University Divinity School. Refreshments will follow. The church is at 111 Spring Street, South Salem.
Sunset Photo Session: 6 p.m. to sunset. Here is your opportunity to get out your camera and photograph the Wolf Conservation Center’s ambassador wolves, Atka, Alawa and Zephyr, at home under the setting sun. Preregistration is required. The fee is $100 per person.
