NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – Here are some events planned in the Pound Ridge, Lewisboro and North Salem area this weekend.

Friday, April 26

“Love Letters” at North Salem High School: 7:30 p.m. North Salem High School drama coach Jay Krass and his wife, Rose, will perform in A. R. Gurney’s Pulitzer Prize-winning, two-person play, ”Love Letters.” It’s in the auditorium of North Salem High School, 230 June Road, North Salem.

“Doubt” in Pound Ridge:  8 p.m. The Pound Ridge Theater Company presents John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner, “Doubt, A Parable,” the basis for the 2008 movie starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Tickets, priced between $20 and $24, are available at the box office, online or by calling 914-764-1902. The performance is at Conant Hall, 257 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge.

Walk-a-Thon in North Salem: 10 a.m. to noon. Members of North Salem High School’s National Honor Society are sponsoring a walk-a-thon to raise funds for the Baumler/Robson Foundations. The event is on the track of the middle/high school at June and Hardscrabble Roads. For more information or a sponsorship form contact pgalluccio@northsalemschools.org.

Arbor Day in Lewisboro: 11 a.m. Learn how to plant and grow your own fruit trees, and get the chance to ask questions and get answers from experts. It’s at Onatru Farm Town Park, 99 Elmwood Road, South Salem.

Open House at Henry Morgenthau Preserve: Learn how to hand mow with Richard Lyman at 9 a.m. and how to reforest using bare-root seedlings with Mark Viscuzi at 9:30 a.m. The event is free and sponsored by The Invasives Project. The Henry Morgenthau Preserve is on Route 172 in Pound Ridge. For more information contact mshapiro@bedfordaudubon.org. 

Goldens Bridge Fire Department Open House: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring the kids, the neighbors and your friends to check out the firehouse, engines and equipment, and meet some of the Goldens Bridge volunteer firefighters. The Goldens Bridge Fire House is at 254 Waccabuc Road, Goldens Bridge.

Pound Ridge Historical Society: 2 p.m. Beth Herr, former curator of the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation’s Nature Museum, and Lewisboro Town Historian Maureen Koehl will present a talk/slide show based on their book on the history of the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. It takes place at the Pound Ridge Town House on Westchester Avenue in Pound Ridge. In addition, the Society’s new exhibit, Archival Treasures, will open at the Historical Society Museum, 255 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge. The exhibit will continue to be open Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. until Dec. 1.

Linda Russell at the Ruth Keeler Library: 3 p.m. Linda Russell, described as a historical musician, balladeer, teacher, historian and storyteller, will entertain in a program titled “Of Time and the River: Songs of the Historic Hudson.” The program is co-sponsored by the North Salem Historical Society. There is no charge. The Ruth Keeler Memorial Library is at 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.
