North Salem's Ruth Keeler Library Holds Continuing Programs For Adults

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Ruth Keeler Library will be hosting events and continuous programs adults and families throughout February and March. 

Here is the schedule of events:

Ruth Keeler Memorial Library Association Annual Meeting:  Guest Speaker Page Dickey "Some of My Favorite Gardens and Why," Sunday, March 9 at 3 p.m.

Seniors Book Club: Tuesday, March 11, at 12:30 p.m. at the North Salem Fire Department, 274 Titicus Road. The book to be discussed is: "Rules of Civility" by Amor Towles. Open to all. It will begin immediately after the meeting at the firehouse.

Healing through Writing: A writing workshop for people touched by cancer. Patients, survivors and family members and all are welcomed. It will meet at the library on the third Friday of the month from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21 and Friday, March 14. This workshop will be led by Susie Aybar. She is an award-winning poet and lives in North Salem with her husband and three sons.

Continuing Programs at the Library

Conversation with Local Gardeners: Informal discussion about gardening. Saturdays at 10 a.m. on Feb. 22 and March 15. Bagels and Books: Book Discussion Group, First Thursday of the month on Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m. "The Cat's Table" by Michael Ondaatje.           Night Time Arts with Maggie Zander Orling: Every Monday evening at 7 p.m. Open to all experience levels. Library supplies the materials for drawing and  working with collage and assemblage.                            History and Biography Book Club: This new book group will meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the library. It is open to all on a drop-in basis. Tuesday, Feb. 11: "Master of the Mountain: Thomas Jefferson and his Slaves" by Henry Wiencek; Tuesday, March 11: "Factory Girls" by Leslie Chang.                 Writers' Workshop: The first Wednesday of the month at 11 a.m., Feb. 5 and March 5.  For writers and aspiring writers who want to share their work in a supportive atmosphere. Led by Pam Pooley.

Technology Wednesdays: From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Bring your questions and devices for help from our high school geniuses.

Free Computer Help:  Saturdays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday librarians offer free one-on-one computer help. Please call first.
