As is customary, marchers will gather at the intersection of Oak Ridge Road and Route 116, where the march to the Veterans’ Memorial at the Westchester Exceptional Children’s School will begin at 10 a.m. Marchers are asked to assemble from 9:15 to 9:30 a.m.
The march will be led by the Color Guard and veterans of all wars. Behind them will follow the Croton Falls Fire Department, the North Salem Ambulance Corps, the Lions Club, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, the Cub Scouts, the Brownies, the Daisies, the Boys and Girls Baseball Teams, the School Band, and representatives of other organizations as well.
Speakers at this year's ceremonies will include North Salem Supervisor Warren Lucas and Coast Guard Jake Hauser. The ceremonies will take place at the site of the North Salem Veterans’ Memorial, which was refurbished and beautified this year through the efforts of North Salem’s Christopher Woloshyn, in his successful endeavor to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
After the speeches, everyone is invited to move on to the baseball field opposite The Farmer & The Fish to enjoy complimentary hotdogs and beverages while they chat with friends and neighbors.
The American Legion welcomes all U. S. veterans of any gender and any age to join the parade. The Legion also invites all veterans to join Post #1866, which meets once a month at the North Salem Lions Club Community Center.
