Update: Drunk Driver Admits Dragging, Injuring Mayor Who Tried To Help Him In Orange County
A 42-year-old man has admitted to felony drunk driving charges after injuring a Hudson Valley mayor who tried to help him, officials announced.
Orange County resident Matthew Labar of Goshen, age 42, pleaded guilty to felony DWI charges on Friday, Jan. 12, Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced on Friday, Jan. 26.

Orange County Man Convicted Of DWI By Jury
A Hudson Valley man has been convicted of DWI and traffic offenses after turning off his headlights while driving to avoid being seen by police.
Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced that Allan Jones, age 27, of Warwick, was convicted by a jury on Monday, Jan. 31.
During the trial, prosecutors argued that on Monday, Dec. 27, in the Town of Warwick, Jones drove a vehicle in a reckless fashion while turning off his headlights in an effort to avoid detection by the police.

Covid-19: Here's Brand-New Breakdown Of Orange County Cases By Community
The number of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and fatalities are all on the rise in Orange County as the Hudson Valley contends with a new wave of the virus.
The number of active cases is up to 2,427, up nearly 1,000 from one month ago, according to the county Department of Health. Newly confirmed fatalities brought the death toll up to 774 as of Tuesday, March 30.
A total of 122 COVID-19 patients are being treated in Orange County hospitals.
Since the pandemic began, a total of 42,769 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed out of 642,254 tests administered in Orange County.
