Train Strikes SUV In Warwick, Driver Escapes Serious Injury
A 19-year-old woman escaped serious injury after her SUV was hit by a train in the area. The crash took place around 11:57 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the Forester Avenue crossing in the Village of Warwick, said the Warwick Fire Department on Facebook. Officials said the train did not have time to stop once it saw the vehicle crossing the tracks. After the vehicle was hit, it hit the pedestrian crossing sign on the side of the track. Kitten Rescued From Dumpster By Firefighters In Warwick
Members of the Warwick Fire Department proved they’re always on call, making a special rescue of a kitten caught in a dumpster. Warwick Fire Capt. Joe Ingui was walking his dog Maya on Tuesday, Aug. 6, when he found a kitten caught in a precarious position outside Warwick Station 2. A Warwick family who lost everything it owns during a house fire is being helped by the community through a GoFundMe page. The fire started around 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 at the home in Warwick, said the Warwick Fire Department. By the time firefighters arrived on the scene the home was fully engulfed in flames but everyone inside was able to make it out The family, including Nancy and Richard Pennings, said they were outside by the pool when they saw smoke over their home.
