Miami-Bound Fentanyl Dealer Nabbed In Hudson Valley, Cops Say An alleged fentanyl dealer in the region who was headed to Miami, Florida was nabbed by drug task agents before he could leave. Dutchess County resident Jose J. Cruz, age 22, of Beacon, was arrested early Monday, March 25 in Hyde Park by members of the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force. According to Det. Sgt. Adam Harris of the Task Force, Cruz had been under investigation for the sale of fentanyl and other drugs in Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, and the surrounding areas. Hudson Valley Man Nabbed With Defaced Semi-Auto Pistol, Police Say A Hudson Valley man has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon found during a traffic stop. Dutchess County resident Davis A. Weir. age 33, of Hyde Park, was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 13 around 6:30 p.m., in the area of Violet Avenue and Yates Avenue in Hyde Park.  According to Hyde Park Police Robert Benson, when officers stopped Weir for speeding they could see a handgun on the driver's side floorboard. Closure Planned For Busy Roadway In Area State Police are set to temporarily close a roadway in the Hudson Valley due to an investigation. New York State Police said State Route 9G/Violet Avenue in Dutchess County will close for about two hours on Thursday, Oct. 28, due to an investigation between E/W Dorsey Lane and Cottage Road in Hyde Park. Police said the closure will begin at about 10 a.m. Northbound traffic on State Route 9G will be told to take Fulton Street West towards State Route 9 North, and southbound traffic is set to be diverted to West Dorsey Lane to take State Route 9 South.
