32-Year-Old Man Convicted Of Committing Violent Rape In Area A local man has been found guilty of committing a violent rape in 2019. Ulster County resident Andrew Sturgill, age 32, of the Village of Ellenville, was convicted on Tuesday, April 13, of unlawfully entering the victims’ home and having sexual intercourse with her while she was incapacitated, said Ulster County District Attorney David Clegg. It was the first jury trial conducted in the Ulster County Court since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Man Found Dead Outside Bank In Area A man was found dead, slumped in the bushes against the side of a bank in the area. The body was discovered at approximately 5:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 in Ulster County. According to Village of Ellenville Police, police were called when the unconscious and unresponsive man was found outside the Sterling National Bank. CPR was administered by police to the man, identified as 39-year-old John J. Child Sex Offender On The Run Nabbed In Area A wanted 27-year-old registered sex offender from out of state has been nabbed in the Hudson Valley. Members of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office arrested Delbert Wiley Tibbs Jr. of Centerville, Tennessee man on Tuesday, June 16 in the Town of Wawarsing. The arrest came after the department received information about a registered sex offender from Tennessee who was wanted on three separate warrants for failing to register as a sex offender, the Sheriff's Office said. Two Area Residents Accused Of Selling Tainted Heroin Two Highland residents are behind bars after being popped for allegedly selling heroin laced with Fentanyl. Casey A.
