Drunk Driver Slams Into Popular Newburgh Ice Cream Shop, Police Say
A popular Hudson Valley ice cream shop is temporarily closed after an alleged drunk driver crashed his Infiniti Q70 into the building.
The incident took place in Orange County around 4:55 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 11 at Mary Janes Dairy Bar in the town of Newburgh.
When the town of Newburgh Police officers arrived on the scene they found a 2015 Infiniti Q70 had crashed into the building on the south side, going through the wall and coming to rest in the building, said Lt. Peter Talarico, of the Newburgh Police.

Orange County Man Involved In Fatal Crash On I-84, Police Say
The 25-year-old passenger of a vehicle that crashed in Connecticut died from injuries sustained after her driver lost control on I-84 and crashed, state police investigators announced.
Shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12, police said New York resident Ronald Boire, age 60, of Warwick in Orange County, was driving west on I-84 in Hartford County, when 25-year-old Christine Shadajai Collins, of New Britain lost control and sideswiped him near exit 39 in Farmington.

Driver Injured After Allegedly Attempting To Pass DOT Trucks On Taconic, State Police Say
A Hudson Valley man was injured after allegedly attempting to pass two Department of Transportation trucks on the Taconic Parkway and flipping his vehicle.
Putnam County resident Rowan Thomas, age 24, of Mahopac, was injured around 9:15 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, while driving his 2019 Jeep Compass on the parkway in Lagrangeville, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
According to Hicks, two DOT Freightliner trucks were traveling slowly in the right lane when Thomas passed the first truck, only to realize that the second truck was in front of him, also traveling slowly.

Police ID Rockland Man Who Died After His Vehicle Fell From Route 304 Overpass
Police have released the name of a man who died in a single-vehicle Hudson Valley crash when his vehicle fell from Route 304 onto Route 59.
Michael Magee, age 25, of Stony Point, died around 3:45 a.m., Sunday, June 13, following the crash in Nanuet, said Clarkstown Police Detective Norm Peters.
According to Peters, Magee was reportedly driving his Ford Mustang, northbound in the southbound lanes on Route 304 for a considerable distance, upwards of over two miles.

Driver Loses Control Of Vehicle, Hits Rock Wall, Utility Pole In Area
A 31-year-old man was injured after allegedly losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a rock wall and a utility pole.
The incident took place in Rockland on Tuesday, Jan. 7, during the early evening on Camp Hill Road in Ramapo, said police.
The driver, a Village of New Hempstead resident, lost control of his vehicle, struck a rock wall and utility pole causing the vehicle to overturn, according to police.
The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was issued a ticket for failure to reduce speed, before being transported by Spring Valley Ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

Man Slams Into Pole While Driving Drunk At More Than Twice Legal Limit, Police Say
A man was arrested for felony DWI after he allegedly crashed his vehicle while driving at more than twice the legal limit in Ulster County.
Christopher M. Claussell, 43, of Saugerties, was arrested around 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3, when Saugerties Police responded to the area of165 Main St., for a reported motor vehicle crash, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said.
Once police arrived on the scene they found that Claussell was driving a 2016 Ford Fusion on Main Street when his vehicle left the roadway and hit a utility pole, Sinagra said.

Services have been announced for a Pearl River High School student-athlete killed in a horrific multi-vehicle crash.
A wake will be held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, at F. Ruggiero & Sons Funeral Home, 732 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, for Altin Nezaj, 17, who died during a crash on Sunday, Oct. 13, that also killed another teen and critically injured another.
