Dogs Stuck In Icy Hudson River Rescued Two dogs who were out for a day of adventure were rescued after they became stranded on the ice on the Hudson River in the area of Parker Avenue in Ulster County. Members of the Esopus Fire Department responded to the area around 3 p.m. after receiving word of the stuck dogs, the department said on their Facebook page. Once firefighters arrived and confirmed the dogs were on the ice without access to retrieve them, they went to work along with the Rifton Fire Department with their ice rescue team and the Town of Esopus Volunteer Ambulance Squad, the department said.
