Body Found Floating Near Bear Mountain Docks State Police are investigating after a badly decomposed body was found in the Hudson Valley River. The incident took place in Rockland County near Tompkins Vove around 10:15 a.m., on Sunday, July 17. State police were notified by state parks police of a report of a body found in the water on the west side of the Hudson River near the Bear Mountain Boat Dock, said Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police. The New York State Department of Health is reporting that as of Friday, May 1, there have been 11,708 COVID-19 cases in Rockland out of 30,593 residents tested. There have been 511 deaths reported since the virus began spreading throughout the Hudson Valley in early March. Three From Rockland Nabbed For DWI In Stops By Sheriff's Officers Three people were arrested for DWI by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office during routine traffic stops. Those arrested included: Omar Bello, 24, of Suffern, was arrested around 4:25 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, after being stopped on Route 59 in Spring Valley. During the stop, deputies found that Bello was allegedly under the influence and was driving with a license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, DWI and aggravated DWI with a BAC greater than .18 percent. He was released on a summons to appear in court on Dec. 18.
