Roads Expected To Reopen In Orange County Following Flooding, Hochul Says
Several busy main roads in the Hudson Valley are expected to soon reopen following a severe storm system that dropped several inches of rain and resulted in historic flooding, officials said. The expected road reopenings were announced on Wednesday afternoon, July 12 by New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who said that they will follow several days of intense repair work. State Police Issue Alert For Man Wanted In Monroe
Wonderful French is wanted by State Police after he was arrested for drug possession then never showed up in court. French, 50, was reportedly the passenger in a vehicle stopped on State Route 17 in the town of Chester by State Police. He charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after seven grams of heroin and 11 grams of crack cocaine were found on his person. Fourteen area residents were among nearly two dozen arrested by New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley for alleged impaired driving this past weekend. Area residents charged: Orange County On Friday, Jan. 24, State Police from Monroe arrested John Willis, 56, of Middletown, for DWI. New York State Police troopers removed three dozen motorists from area roadways for alleged impaired driving over the weekend. Man Caught With Large Amount Of Heroin In Wallkill Traffic Stop
A 45-year-old man is behind bars after he was found to be in possession of a large quantity of raw, unpackaged heroin during a traffic stop, state police said. Troopers patrolling State Route 17 in the Town of Wallkill stopped a vehicle traveling westbound for traffic infractions on Saturday, Dec. 29. During the stop, a passenger in the car, Angel L. Cruz of Buffalo, was found to possess the heroin, according to police.
