Person Found Dead In Area Cottage Firefighters found a dead person inside a cottage apartment that burned on Monday, June 10 in the area. The call for the fire came in around 8:24 a.m., at 1185 Route 9G in a small cottage in Hyde Park that is one of three on the property that also contains a two-story apartment building, said Jeffrey Scala, assistant chief of the Roosevelt Fire District. When crews arrived on the scene they found a working fire and were able to douse the flames within 20 minutes, the chief said. Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Route 9G Crash This story has been updated. A bicycle rider hit by a vehicle on Route 9G in Dutchess County remains in serious condition, according to the Hyde Park Police. The crash took place around 3:04 p.m., Thursday, April 25, in the area of 577 Route 9G, said Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson. Patrol arrived on the scene and found Lorenzo Calderon 86-year-old male from Staatsburg unconscious.
