Garbage Truck Driver Ticketed After Route 59 Crash Leaves One Critical A garbage truck driver has been issued a total of 12 summonses following a crash that left one person in critical condition.  The Ramapo Police Department Crash Investigation Unit conducted an investigation into the crash that occurred around 6:44 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 11, said Ramapo Police Lt. Warwick Man Critical Following Head-On Route 59 Crash Police are investigating a serious head-on crash on Route 59 in Hillburn that took place early in the morning The crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11 when a northbound garbage truck swerved into the southbound lane of Route 59 striking a small sedan head-on, Ramapo Police said. The truck pushed the car into a parking lot adjacent to Route 59.  The sedan's driver, of Warwick, was extricated by Tallman, Hillburn and Suffern Fire departments. Man Driving Drunk Had Three Kids In Car On Route 59, Police Say A 60-year-old man was nabbed for driving drunk with three children in the car after police noticed the children were not wearing seatbelts.  Ramapo police made the stop around 2:10 p.m. Monday after officers on patrol on Route 59 in Hillburn noticed the children were not wearing safety devices. The officer conducted a traffic stop and began to observe signs that the driver, from Washington, D.C., was intoxicated. An investigation revealed he was driving at twice the legal limit with a blood alcohol content greater than .18 percent, the Ramapo Police said. He was charged with aggravated DWI…

Man Stabbed By Co-Worker On Route 59, Police Say Ramapo police arrested a Paterson man after he stabbed a co-worker during an argument at a warehouse in Hillburn. Officers responded to a call for a fight in progress at the warehouse around 1:30 p.m. Monday at 230 Route 59, according to Ramapo Police. Upon their arrival, a 41-year-old employee at the warehouse told officers he had been stabbed by another employee, police said. Officers arrested Ahmed Masha, 20, of Paterson, and charged him with the felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
