Traffic Alert: Expect Lane Closures During Route 17K Upgrades In Montgomery Commuters can expect lane closures and reductions along Route 17K in the Hudson Valley during a culvert replacement. The closures begin in Orange County in the town of Montgomery on Monday, Sept. 18 at 7 a.m., said the New York State Department of Transportation. The detours and closures will run between Route 747 and Browns Road and will include closures in both directions and shift to the eastbound lanes, DOT officials said. Driver Seriously Injured After Crash With Tractor-Trailer In Maybrook The driver of a Mustang was seriously injured after crashing with a tractor-trailer on a stretch of I-84 and becoming trapped. The crash took place in Orange County around 10:15 p.m., Monday, May 24, near Route 208 and I-84 in Maybrook, said the Montgomery Fire Department. The department, which was working mutual aid with the Maybrook Fire District, and the Montgomery Ambulance Corps, was able to successfully extricate the driver, who was then airlifted to an area hospital.  The driver was reportedly fleeing from police when the crash took place.

Single-Lane Closure Scheduled On Route 208 In Orange County Lane closures have been scheduled in both directions on Route 208 for several weeks in Orange County. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert warning that beginning on Monday, Oct. 21, there will be lane closures on Route 208 in Montgomery to allow construction crews to perform highway maintenance work. The closures will be daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Bradley Lane and Route 52 through Friday, Dec. 1. During the project, motorists in the area can expect delays and have been advised to seek alternate routes, when possible.
