Two-Car Crash Comes After Route 202 Driver Makes Illegal Left Turn, Police Say An illegal left turn led to a two-car crash on Route 202 in Ramapo, police said. Officers from the Ramapo Police Department responded to a two-car crash on Route 202 near Spock Rock Road late on Saturday, Sept. 14. Police said that the investigation into the crash determined that one of the drivers was making a left turn off of Route 202, which is now illegal. The motorists suffered minor injures that did not require treatment, though the driver making the illegal left-hand turn was issued a summons.

First responders in Ramapo responded to a two-vehicle crash at approximately 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 29 on Route 202. According to police, a Honda Civic was making a left turn out of the Ramapo Equestrian Center when it struck a Yamaha motorcycle that was riding south on the roadway. A stretch of Route 202 has reopened Sunday afternoon after a downed tree with power lines caused its closure for approximately two hours. The closure was between Viola Road and Orchard Circle in Montebello. During the closure, traffic was turned around at Orchard Circle on the one side and diverted down Viola Road on the other.  NY State DOT and Orange & Rockland also responded.

The two-vehicle crash, with injuries, occurred on the stretch of Bear Mountain Bridge Road between the Scenic Overlook and Camp Smith Drive at around 10 a.m. The closure was between the Bear Mountain Bridge and Annsville Circle.

The northbound incident occurred between Exit 12 (Route 45) and Exit 13 (ROute 202).
