The incident took place in Sullivan County on Saturday, May 13, at the Ascalona Campground in Barryville.  Deputies responded to the campground on a report of a missing person, said Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty. Hector Luna, Jr., age 28, of Wallkill, was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in state prison on Tuesday, Jan. 17, in connection with his guilty plea to assault for having shot a man in front of a town of Wallkill restaurant in 2021, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler. Escaped Federal Prisoner Nabbed In Region Police in the region, along with members of the US Marshal Service arrested an escaped prisoner who had been granted a furlough to attend a funeral. Jason “Critter” Lajoie, age 45, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 27, said Lt. Mark Johnstone, of the Monticello Police in Sullivan County. Officer Robert Schlossberg stopped the car on the northbound highway near Russell Avenue for several violations, including defective lights, and found the heroin and prop gun along with three digital scales and five cellphones, Wyckoff (NJ) Police Chief David Murphy said.
