Palisades Interstate Parkway Crash: Man Hits NY State Police Cruiser A New York State police officer was injured when a local man crashed into the back of the officer’s cruiser, officials said. It happened in Rockland County on Wednesday, Aug. 30 in Stony Point, according to the New York State Police. A Park police car was stopped in the right southbound lane of the Palisades Interstate Parkway, between exits 15 and 16. Another vehicle was stuck in the lane, and the officer was blocking the lane for the car, the NYSP said. Man Found Dead After Jumping From Bear Mountain Bridge ID'd A man found dead after jumping from the Bear Mountain Bridge has been identified by police. Jack J. Murphy, age 69, of Ossining, was found by the Westchester County Police Marine Unit after jumping from the bridge around 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 29, state police said. Large 'Unpermitted' Car Show Leads To One Being Tased, Arrested In Area, Police Say A large car show with more than 250 people that drew complaints from neighbors ended with one of the attendees being tased and placed under arrest. Wappingers Falls police were alerted to the "unofficial" show in the parking lot of Dutchess Plaza on Route 9, around 8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 16, said Wappingers Falls Police Lt. Paolo Capparelli.
