66-Year-Old Newburgh Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash A 66-year-old Hudson Valley man was killed in a single-vehicle crash. The collision took place in Orange County around 11 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 9 on Route 9W north in the Town of Newburgh of the intersection with Old Post Road. The victim, from Newburgh, who had to be extricated from the vehicle, died from his injuries, said Lt. Dennis Carpenter, of the town of Newburgh Police. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of family members. An investigation is underway. Route 9W Reopens After Crash Kills One, Injures Several In Town Of Newburgh This story has been updated. A stretch of Route 9W in the Middlehope area of the town of Newburgh has reopened following a multiple-vehicle crash. The crash took place around 1:40 p.m., Wednesday, June 19 on Route 9W, north of Lattintown Road, said Town of Newburgh Police Lt. James Nenni. According to Nenni, one person was killed and several were injured in the crash. The road, from Lattintown Road to Old Post Road, was closed for hours while the investigation continued.
