A 33-year-old New York man was arrested by New Jersey State Police after paying a woman to have sex with her 12-year-old daughter, authorities said.
New Jersey State Police began investigating Ulster County resident Alexander Boyd in January after he was soliciting children for sex on the internet, New Paltz Police, where Boyd lives, said. Boyd made plans with a woman to purchase her 12-year-old daughter for sex, police said.

Peacock announced last week the 10-part series starring Natasha Lyonne will air on Peacock on Thursday, Jan. 26.

Hudson Valley Man Busted Driving Drunk Twice In 2 Hours, Police Say
A Hudson Valley resident was stopped for suspected drunk driving not once, but twice in a span of just two hours, authorities said.
Troopers in Ulster County stopped Edwin Mendez, age 29, of New Paltz, at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, July 31, as he drove on Southside Avenue in New Paltz.
Troopers had noticed the man’s 2013 Audi S4 violating several vehicle and traffic laws, according to New York State Police.
During their conversation, troopers determined that Mendez did not have a valid driver’s license and was impaired by alcohol, police said.

A 37-year-old woman was arrested after she was allegedly busted for drunk driving on the New York State Thruway, authorities said.
Troopers in Ulster County stopped the woman’s car just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, in the town of New Paltz for multiple vehicle and traffic violations, according to New York State Police.
They determined the driver, Allison Aber, of Malta in Saratoga County, was intoxicated and arrested her.

A 24-year-old has been sentenced for possessing and receiving child porn, federal authorities announced.
Long Island resident Jacob Delaney, age 24, of Holtsville, was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for receiving and possessing child pornography, announced United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York Carla B. Freedman and Janeen DiGuiseppi, Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Field Office of the FBI on Thursday, May 12.

Four days after a wintry storm rolled through the region, hundreds in the Hudson Valley are still without power.
In Ulster County, the area hit hardest by the storm, more than 1,900 Central Hudson customers were still reporting outages late Tuesday morning, Feb. 8, while there were 54 in Dutchess also left in the dark, according to the utility company.

A Hudson Valley man is facing felony charges after police said he stole a luxury car, a television, and a computer from an area home.
Police responded to a report of a burglary at a home in Ulster County on State Route 209 in the Town of Rochester at about 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, according to New York State Police.
Investigators found that a 2012 Audi A4, a television, and a computer were missing from the home.

A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for allegedly harassing children at an area pool and then seriously attacking two police officers.
Ulster County resident Aidan S. Sullivan, age 45, was arrested on Tuesday, July 13, in New Paltz.
Police officers responded to Moriello Pool, located at 32 Mulberry Street for a report of an adult male who was intoxicated and threatening juveniles, said New Paltz Chief Robert Lucchesi.
