Mugshot Released: Suspected NJ Drunk Driver Who Killed NHL Star, Brother The mugshot was released for the Woodstown man accused of driving drunk, killing an NHL star and his brother. The Salem County Correctional Facility released the mugshot of 43-year-old Sean Higgins to Newsweek. Higgins was charged with two counts of death by auto in the Thursday, Aug. 29 crash that killed Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. Johnny, 31, played for the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Calgary Flames. Vigil To Be Held For Fallen 26-Year-Old Firefighter From Hudson Valley A candlelit vigil will soon be held to honor the memory of a 26-year-old firefighter from the Hudson Valley following his untimely death in Connecticut.  A vigil for Putnam County resident William "Billy" May of Brewster, who died on Friday, March 29, in Danbury at the age of 26, will be held on Monday, Aug. 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the field at Grace Life Community Church at 520 Route 312 in Brewster.  The memorial will be public and will be a way for community members to remember him during the week of what would have been his 27th birthday, according to hi…

Drag Racer Killed In Crash At Capital Region Speedway Condolences are flooding in after a driver was killed during a drag racing event in the region. The Columbia County incident happened at the Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon at around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, July 7. New York State Police said William Janke, age 57, was participating in the National Hot Rod Association’s (NHRA) Lucas Oil Divisional Series when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a barrier. Janke, an Orange County resident from Newburgh, was ejected from his 2013 Chevrolet Camaro and pronounced dead at the scene by medics. The speedway suspended all racing activitie…

Stone Memorial Found At Gabby Petito Search Area In Wyoming A number of stones laid out in what appears to be a memorial were found on the forest floor in the area where authorities were searching for Gabby Petito. Reporter Sydney Glenn of Fox 13 KSTU in Salt Lake City, Utah, posted a photo of the makeshift memorial, saying the stones were laid out near the area of the national park in Wyoming where human remains were found that the FBI said are "consistent" with the description of the 22-year-old Long Island woman.  Glenn said the stones were found near the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area.
