Standoff Ends After Man Barricades Himself Inside Area Home A 55-year-old City of Poughkeepsie man who barricaded himself inside a home threatening to shoot people has surrendered to police. The incident began around 10:13 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, when City of Poughkeepsie police responded to 204 N. Hamilton St., for a report of a man threatening to shoot people with a gun, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Richard Wilson. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the residence was made of up of several rooms rented by different people.
