ID Released For Worker Electrocuted Trimming Trees In Newburgh A worker who died after being electrocuted while trimming trees in a bucket lift in the area has been identified. Reynaldo Martinez-Cruz, 34, of Poughkeepsie, died following the accident that took place around 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, said Town of Newburgh Police Lt. James Nenni. Martinez-Cruz was using a pole-saw in the bucket lift about 25-feet above the roadway when he made contact with live power lines at the corner of Babes Lane and Lattintown Road in the Town of Newburgh, said Nenni. An investigation into the accident is underway.

Route 9W Reopens After Crash Kills One, Injures Several In Town Of Newburgh This story has been updated. A stretch of Route 9W in the Middlehope area of the town of Newburgh has reopened following a multiple-vehicle crash. The crash took place around 1:40 p.m., Wednesday, June 19 on Route 9W, north of Lattintown Road, said Town of Newburgh Police Lt. James Nenni. According to Nenni, one person was killed and several were injured in the crash. The road, from Lattintown Road to Old Post Road, was closed for hours while the investigation continued.
