Two-Alarm House Fire Breaks Out In Poughkeepsie A two-alarm fire at a two-story, four-apartment City of Poughkeepsie building left 10 residents homeless. The fire, that started around 7:56 a.m. Tuesday at 123 Winnikee Ave., in Poughkeepsie, began on the second floor of the building and by the time the fire was out, the entire building had been devasted. All four apartments were rented to tenants who managed to escape safely without injuries, according to City of Poughkeepsie Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Franco.
