Everyone got out OK and no injuries were reported after the fire ignited on the first floor near the back of the Hudson Avenue home off County Road shortly before 8:30 p.m. June 14. It quickly went to three alarms and then, later, a fourth for coverage. Firefighters had the bulk of the blaze knocked down within a half hour, then remained until 11 p.m. or so dousing hot spots. Nyack Man Charged In Theft Of $150,000 Worth Of Copper From Hardware Manufacturer A Nyack man conspired with two accomplices to steal more than $150,000 worth of copper from a North Jersey hardware manufacturer, authorities charged. Police arrested the trio after a manager at Elgen/Capital Hardware Inc. in the Bergen County town of Closter reported large quantities of copper missing from the business. Now-former employee Eliseo Adorno, 47, worked with Alvaro Baca, 27, of Roselle, New Jersey, who was the company's shipping manager, and trucker Dimitris M.
